Nico Rosberg is a German Formula 1 driver who races for the Mercedes AMG Petronas team. He is the son of Finland's Keke Rosberg, Formula 1 world champion in 1982. Nico Rosberg won his first Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2012, at the Chinese Grand Prix. He went on to win the 2013 British Grand Prix and the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix. Nico Rosberg has been a works driver with Mercedes since 2010. In 2014 he signed a multi-year contract extension with Mercedes. Prior to joining Mercedes, Nico Rosberg drove for Williams from 2006 to 2009. In 2010 he moved to Mercedes, where he has remained ever since. Nico Rosberg is currently second in the Formula 1 world championship standings, behind Lewis Hamilton. He has won 3 races so far in 2016, and finished on the podium 9 times. Nico Rosberg has also won 11 pole positions in his career.
