Design Fuleco Brasil 2014 World Cup 01 Hooded
Fuleco, the official mascot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, was created to raise awareness of the need to protect the environment. The name Fuleco comes from a combination of the Portuguese words for "football" and "ecology". The mascot is an armadillo, a species found in Brazil that is currently considered to be in danger of extinction. Fuleco's design is based on the three-banded armadillo, which is able to curl up into a ball to protect itself from predators. The three stripes on Fuleco's case represent the different colors of the Brazilian flag. In addition to serving as a reminder to protect the environment, Fuleco also encourages cross-cultural understanding and respect for diversity.
